Read this before you continue....
  • If you have already submitted an application form, please do not submit a duplicate application via the Internet.
  • Have your ID or passport number and school and tertiary study details handy before you start.
  • Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory fields. You will not be able to continue with your application without completing these fields.
  • You will notice that some screens have a RESET button. If you click on it, all the information you have typed into the blocks on that screen will be erased, allowing you to start again.
  • When you enter your programme choices the system will tell you whether that choice is still available.
  • Once you have completed your application, you will be able to check it, make corrections and print a copy.
  • There are two documents you should download and print:
    • Declaration and checklist to be signed and returned to the CAO.
    • CAO banking information for payment of application fee. Your application will be made available to the institutions once payment has been received.
  • Please note that you will require a PDF reader to open and print this document.

    What happens next!
  • The CAO will send you an acknowledgement letter by email, fax or post confirming receipt of your application and payment. We ask you to check all the information in the acknowledgement carefully. If there are mistakes or if information is missing email us at enqgeneralcao@cao.ac.za or write the corrections on the acknowledgement and post a copy back to us or fax it to 086 622 8828. Please contact us if you do not receive this acknowledgement within one month after your have applied.
  • Any special information the institution wishes applicants to know will be included with the details of your choices.
  • You can track the status of your application by selecting the ‘My Application’ icon on the menu page and entering your CAO number, ID or passport number. You can also print these details if you have a printer.
  • UNISA applicants – UNISA will give you a conditional Offer (must meet requirements) and send you a student number and registration details. Once you have received your UNISA student number, if you meet the entry requirements, you can register online at www.unisa.ac.za or at your nearest UNISA branch.
