If you have authorised the CAO to release your
application information to other institutions,
you may be contacted to see if you are
interested in a particular programme.
Mid-year entry point
Some programmes have a second intake
of students during the year. You will find this
information under
‘entry term’
in the programme
list on pages 64-151 or on the CAO website
www.cao.ac.za
. Let us know in writing (see page
46) if you wish to be considered for any of these.
Sometimes other programmes also accept
students later in the year if they already have
an equivalent of first semester study. To check
availability, contact the institution.
Extending your application to the next
entry year/term
You will be allowed to extend your 2014
application into 2015 provided you let us know
by completing a “Change of Mind Request”
form by 31 March 2014. If your request is not
received by this date, you will be required to
make a new application for the next entry.
If you have applied for the mid-year entry
in 2013 only, you have until 31 August 2013 to
extend your application to 2014. If your request
is not received by this date, you will be required
to make a new application for the next entry.

one sent to you.
Distance learning (home study)
Consider whether a distance learning
programme through Elangeni FET College,
Oval International Campus or Regent Business
School could help you move towards your goal.

Further Education andTraining Colleges
FET Colleges offer instruction for the National
Certificate (Vocational)withanemphasisonpractical
training, as well as the National Certificates. See
'Study Options'
(page 20).These can be combined
with upgrading some of your NSC or Senior
Certificate subjects. If you choose the right
combination of subjects it is easy to transfer
